When to insert your new 4G SIM card

Posted on 05 January 2021

The new 4G network will go live on Tuesday 12 January 2021. Your new SIM card will need to be inserted when you wake up on this day. Please do not insert your 4G SIM prior to going to bed on Monday 11 January. The reason for this is to ensure that you can access emergency services.

From midnight until 6am on Tuesday 12 January landlines will be disabled. Triple Zero 000 will be available for you to call from your 2G mobile. Calls to this number will be diverted to emergency service staff mobile phone numbers.

To ensure that you are able to access emergency services (should you need to), please ensure that your mobile phone is fully charged and that you have credit.

Regular updates will be posted in the lead up to go live date, so be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook page this week and next for more information.
